Every Action in Patient Pathway Plus carries an escalation value from 1 to 10. The system sets it when the Action is created and raises it as the due date approaches. Once an Action is overdue, its value climbs and the row turns red in the Diary Action List, so your most urgent work is always at the top when you sort by escalation.
Actions do not expire. An overdue Action stays in the Diary until someone completes it, so a team lead's job is to notice the red rows, understand why they are late, and either chase, complete or reassign them. The usual cause is capacity: leave, sickness or a Business Unit nobody is watching.

Open an overdue Action with the pencil icon. You can add to the notes, change the due date, or overwrite the assigned user. Clearing the user and keeping the Business Unit hands it back to the team.
In the practice copy of PP+, filter the PTL, open the longest wait, record a validation note and raise a Follow Up Action for CBS Surgical.
